Microsoft has updated its official courseware, to include training for SQL Server 2014. This complements the SQL Server 2012 content that is already within the curriculum. What you learn on this course will be applicable to both SQL Server 2012 and 2014.

With these certs, you'll master the maintenance of a Microsoft SQL Server database and get the knowledge needed to implement a Business Intelligence platform for Microsoft SQL Server. You'll also gain hands-on experience with the new tools and features of SQL Server 2014 and Excel 2013.

Prerequisites

In addition to professional experience, you must have:

  • Fundamental knowledge of the Windows OS and its core functionality
  • Working knowledge of Transact-SQL, and relational databases
  • Experience of database design
  • Understanding of virtualisation technology (our labs use virtual machines)
  • At least 2 years’ experience working with relational databases, including:
    • Design a normalized database
    • Create tables and relationships
    • Query with Transact-SQL
  • Exposure to basic programming constructs (such as looping and branching)

Awareness of key business priorities such as revenue, profitability, and financial accounting is also recommended.
